What better way to kick off the holidays than by sharing in the spirit of giving.
It’s what hundreds of volunteers, including Syncrude employees and their families, have planned to do as part of the 2019 Syncrude Food Drive.
The annual event includes a radio-thon Corporate Challenge followed by a three-day Food Drive. This year, Syncrude announced a donation of $90,000 to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank to put towards its goal of raising $300,000 and 80,000 pounds of food.
“This event marks the start of my Christmas cheer – Day One of the season,” says Syncrude employee James Morell. “It is a passion for me. The Wood Buffalo Food Bank is certainly a just cause and the humanity shared is so wonderful. It is not easy to ask for help but I am so happy that it is there for those who need it.”
The Syncrude Food Drive takes place from November 29 to December 1.
Volunteers will collect food and cash donations at local grocery stores and Wal-Mart in Fort McMurray to help the Wood Buffalo Food Bank stock their shelves with much needed supplies for those in need.
“Syncrude is proud to be a longstanding supporter of the food drive and has donated more than $1 million since we began sponsoring the Corporate Challenge,” says Syncrude Managing Director Doreen Cole, with a challenge to others to also get involved. “With your help, families will get the support they need this holiday season and beyond.”
Help spread the holiday spirit by dropping off your donations in support of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. Every bit counts.
