Syncrude and Suncor present the Annual President’s Cup Hockey Challenge

Fort McMurray, Alta. – Syncrude Canada Ltd. and Suncor Energy will once again lace up their skates and head to the ice for the United Way. Come down and check out the action on Friday, October 25 at the annual President’s CUp Hockey Challenge


  • What: Annual President’s Cup Hockey Challenge for United Way
  • When: Friday, October 25 – Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Casman Centre 
  • Who: Syncrude Bison vs. Suncor Blades
  • Cost: $5 general admission or $20 for a family. Free for children ages five years and under   

“The President’s Cup is one of the highlights of the community’s United Way campaign,” said Mark Little, executive vice president, Oil Sands and In Situ, Suncor Energy. “Don’t miss your chance to cheer on your friends, family members and co-workers as they compete for championship bragging rights while raising money for a worthwhile cause.”

“Syncrude is excited to take part in the President’s Cup again this year. It’s a chance to see two companies face off in friendly competition to support the United Way,” said Syncrude President and CEO Scott Sullivan. “We hope the entire community will embrace the event so the United Way will be the big winner on October 25.”

Tickets are on sale at the door with all proceeds going to United Way Fort McMurray.
