Syncrude responds to serious incident at Aurora mine

Fort McMurray – Syncrude responded to an incident at its Aurora mining facility north of Fort McMurray on Monday, July 1st. A contract worker was fatally injured as a result of an incident involving heavy equipment.

“Our thoughts are with the worker’s family and friends during this difficult time,” said Syncrude President and CEO, Scott Sullivan.

Next of kin have been notified. RCMP and Alberta Workplace Health and Safety are on scene conducting their investigations.
