Syncrude places among top corporations in magazine survey

To get respect you have to earn it. And Syncrude has once again earned the respect of its peers in an annual survey in the May issue of Alberta Venture magazine.

The magazine asked 2,000 senior executives across the province to determine Alberta’s Most Respected Corporations by ranking 30 organizations on five key attributes.

Syncrude earned top marks for environmental stewardship and placed among the top in corporate performance, innovation and human resources practices.

Syncrude CEO Charles Ruigrok said the recognition is high praise for everyone at Syncrude. “It’s the daily efforts of Syncrude employees that help shape the opinions of Albertans regarding our performance,” he said.

Remarking on the accolades Syncrude received for fostering a culture of innovation, President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Carter said,

Syncrude has been a leader in innovation for the oil sands industry since our earliest years. The results of this work are new technologies and processes that are enabling tremendous growth in the oil sands, and which are ensuring Syncrude’s continued success.
